Up to Something
BIO:
Martha Siravo, Luv Seamon, and Sasha Lasdon have been collaborating for over 2 years, blending their diverse backgrounds in aerial dance, competitive para dance, contact improvisation, and a variety of other movement forms. Together, they love to push the boundaries of what’s possible through creative, inclusive movement.
Their performances have delighted audiences at Cycropia Aerial Dance—where they train and create—as well as at Disability Pride Madison, the Shifting Gears Festival, the Wisconsin State Capitol, and Monona Terrace. They believe deeply in the power of play and silliness to lift each other up and connect with their audiences.
The Raging Grannies of Madison
BIO:
The Raging Grannies of Madison began more than two decades ago as a project of the Madison chapter of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF). Their first performance, in 2002, supported an anti-war protest. Since then, they have become well known in the Madison community, singing regularly at the Farmers Market and social justice events dressed in their colorful “granny glam.” Their repertoire of over 200 songs reimagines folk and popular music to address issues that are important in their communities, highlighting fun and laughter as they fight for social change. Savvy organizers, they upend ageist and gendered stereotypes of the “sweet and gentle” grandmother to advance their work.
